Logan to hit nation’s roads by June 2007

TEHRAN – Logan by Renault will soon be assembled in the country, secretary of Auto Part Manufacturer Society of Iran Mohammadreza Najafi-Manesh said here Friday.

Referring to L90 Project, he stated that the venture is going ahead on schedule and orders for over 50% of the parts are placed with Iranian part makers, adding, “Renault’s executive director believes that the figure should reach 80% before the full assembly takes place.”

“Manufacturing of sample parts are underway and based on our projection 60,000 Logans are to be produced next year,” he announced, elaborating that the production is to kick off in August-October 2006 period and 15,000 units are expected to hit the road in January 2007.

So far, 50 companies have officially been added to the list of L90 part makers with 22 contracts signed with Iranian firms.
